Discover five health habits you can use for personal growth in 2025, including embracing slow living, improving posture, and finding contentment.

It might be overdone, but I must say I love the newness of a new year. I know, it really doesn’t change anything. January 1st is no different than any other day of the year, but I think it causes reflection, and that (hopefully) changes things.

I’ve been reflecting a lot over the past few weeks—what’s working well, what isn’t, and what I want to take into the new year. And, I must say, I’ve found some interesting points, including a newfound love for being right where I am.

It might sound unexciting, but I’m actually loving my current reality. I need to celebrate this because I’ve spent nearly every other year of my adult life wishing for the next season. Not out of hate for my present but from a belief that something better was always ahead.

I lived life like a chase, which ultimately meant I wasn’t living it well.

Last year, I committed to breaking up with this mindset, to fully live in the present. While difficult at first, it’s been one of the greatest experiences of my life—one I didn’t even realize I needed.

Contentment and change can coexist.

The beauty is that contentment and change can coexist. Contentment is not the same as complacency.

So, as I reflect back on what is working well, what isn’t, and where I want to grow, I thought I’d share some updates. My life these days involves less five-year planning and more pattern-shifting and system-building. In fact, moving from goal-setting to pattern-shifting has led to more health changes this year than in the past five years combined.

Most of that has come from being diligent about living out these five strategies (or health habits) I proposed in this article.

Inside the podcast, you can catch the five health habits I’m leaving in 2024. I wouldn’t call them epic failures, but I’m definitely done wasting my time, so focus on them because I think they just distract from the larger purpose.

They distract from the things that are working well. What is working well this year feels rather philosophical. I will do my best to put into words the top five health habits I’m taking with me into 2025.

5 health habits I’m taking into the new year:

1. Following What I Feel (Not Just Trusting It or Regulating It)

For years, I thought the key to emotional health was regulation—controlling and balancing my feelings. And while that’s important, I’ve realized I was sometimes using regulation as a way to avoid deeper problems. I could calm myself down, but the same feelings kept coming back up. It felt like a cycle I couldn’t escape from.

This year, I’ve practiced following my feelings instead of just suppressing or managing them. When something feels off, I pause and ask:

  • What am I feeling?
  • Why am I feeling this way?
  • What is this feeling trying to tell me?

This approach has helped me identify patterns, triggers, and even unmet needs that were fueling those emotions. By addressing the root causes, I’ve been able to make meaningful changes in my life instead of patching over problems.

2. Changing My Body Posture

Unconventional ideas related to health have always stood out to me. Partially because the traditional understanding hasn’t worked (at least not for the majority), which has left me believing we had to do something differently. One unconventional idea that caught my attention years ago was the concept of how posture affects your biology.

Posture is about so much more than standing up straight. It affects your breathing, energy, digestion, circulation, and even your mood. In 2023, I learned about the Bowspring method. It’s a holistic and full-body approach to posture that emphasizes dynamic alignment and full-body connectivity. It’s more than just a body posture but how you carry yourself throughout the day.

Practicing this method has made me more aware of how my body feels and moves. I’ve noticed changes in my energy levels, flexibility, and even my confidence. It’s fascinating how small adjustments in posture can create ripple effects throughout your entire body. I believe posture is a foundational part of health, and I’m excited to share more about how it can transform your well-being next year!

3. Living in the Present

I know this sounds cliche. Everyone says to live in the presence. I used to dismiss the idea of “living in the moment” as fluffy self-help advice. But this year, I learned it’s much more profound—and challenging—than I imagined.

Living in the present means truly showing up for your life as it is, not as you wish it were. It means feeling the hard stuff instead of numbing or avoiding it. It means letting go of the need to control the future and trusting that the now is enough.

Here’s what I’ve learned:

  • Your body only exists in the present moment. It can’t plan, worry, or hope—that’s your mind’s job. If you’re constantly projecting into the future, your body remains stuck in a state of stress.
  • When you anchor yourself in the present, your body feels safe. And safety is the foundation for healing and growth.

This year, I leaned into presence by practicing mindfulness, slowing down, and facing discomfort instead of running from it. It was awkward and even terrifying at first, but it’s also been deeply healing. In 2025, I’ll continue this practice—not just to feel good, but to live well.

4. Being a Creator, Not Just a Consumer

It’s easy to fall into the trap of consuming: scrolling through social media, reading endless articles, or watching videos searching for answers. But this year, I realized that consuming too much information can be paralyzing. It creates confusion, comparison, and even a sense of helplessness.

Instead, I’ve shifted my focus to creating. Creating means actively shaping my life. It’s about making choices that align with my values and doing something to create change. Health isn’t something that happens to you — it’s something you create. Whether it’s choosing nourishing foods, prioritizing rest, or setting boundaries, every choice adds up.

In 2025, I want to create more and consume less. This means being intentional about what I let into my life and focusing my energy on things that matter.

5. Embracing Slow Living

For years, I believed productivity was the ultimate measure of success. I filled my days with tasks, rushed through routines, and rarely gave myself permission to rest. But this constant hustle left me feeling burned out and disconnected. Even health was another metric I had to meet.

This year, I’ve embraced slow living—a mindset prioritizing quality over quantity, intention over urgency. Slow living isn’t about doing less for the sake of it. It’s about doing the right things with care and purpose.

Here’s what slow living has taught me:

  • When you slow down, you create space for reflection and creativity.
  • You become more present in your relationships and daily activities.
  • Your body has time to rest, recover, and thrive.

In 2025, I want to lean further into this lifestyle. It’s not about avoiding responsibility or ambition—it’s about pursuing them with grace and balance.

Honorable Mentions (Actionable Changes for 2025):

Nurturing Relationships: Life is about connection and connection is one of our most powerful tools of healing. We weren’t meant to live alone but to exist together. Next year, I’m committing to being present, attentive, and intentional in my relationships with the people who matter most.

Building Strength: Strength training has been a game-changer for my physical and mental health. It has not increased my energy but resiliency. Next year, I want to maintain my commitment to strength building, increasing the weight I use.

Honoring My Feminine Energy: Femininity is a trendy word in health. But more than another thing you do or a standard you meet, it’s a way of life that works to honor your makeup. I haven’t always been good about honoring my design, but understanding it, the power and force within it, has helped me want to foster it. This means embracing my body’s natural rhythms, allowing rest when needed, and leaning into intuition and creativity.

Prioritizing Mineral Balance: Minerals are the great communicators of the body and a strong link between your mind and body. They are foundational for good health. I’ve seen incredible benefits from focusing on them this year. In 2025, I want to dive deeper into this area, helping you learn the link between minerals and emotion and their role in your biology.

Health habits coming in 2025:

As we step into the new year, I’m excited to share fresh insights and tools that will help you see health and wellness through a new lens—one that’s rooted in love, practicality, and sustainability. Here’s what you can expect:

1. Understanding The Power of Neuronutrition:

Neuronutrtion is the connection between how the foods we eat affect our brain and nervous system, which is a game-changer. From improving focus and emotional regulation to supporting overall mental health, healing from trauma, and releasing emotions, I’ll explore how to nourish your body and mind in ways that create real, lasting change. We’ll dive into actionable steps to align your nutrition with your biology for better cognitive and emotional well-being.

2. The Power of Posture:

Posture is more than how you stand—it’s a foundation for your overall health. I’ll continue sharing insights into the Bowspring method and other posture-focused techniques to improve energy, resilience, and even mood. Together, we’ll explore how small adjustments in alignment can lead to significant changes in how you feel and function daily.

3. Pattern Reshaping and System Building:

You’re not broken—you’re simply operating within patterns and systems that may no longer serve you. In 2025, I’ll help you identify and reshape these patterns, replacing them with systems that support your unique design and goals. It’s about building a framework for health that fosters freedom, not restriction.

4. Health Redefined:

Let’s move beyond the rules, trends, and comparison traps. Health is not about chasing perfection but creating a life you love while honoring your body’s innate wisdom. I’ll guide you through practical strategies to build a health journey that feels aligned, fulfilling, and empowering.

This year is all about transformation—not from a place of deficiency but from one of growth and abundance. I’m thrilled to take this journey alongside you, helping you build health habits that are not only personal but lasting.
